Durer’s Melancholia

The Polyhedron in Durer’s Melancholia is related to the chestahedron, the symbol of EOS. Durer worked with kite shaped faces which have 5 sides, while the chestahedron’s kite-shaped faces have only 4 sides, but the two forms have a lot in common, especially in that ascending and descending shapes are the same.
